In a recent development, the Nigerian Army has issued a wanted notice for eight individuals in connection with the tragic killings of 17 soldiers in the Okuama community, Delta State. The announcement was made public through the Army’s official channels on Thursday.
The suspects, comprising seven men and one woman, are believed to be involved in the incident that occurred on March 14, 2024, which resulted in the loss of military personnel during an operation in the community. The list of wanted persons includes Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono, Prof Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriki, Igoli Ebi (female), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukevwe, and Reuben Baru.
This action follows a solemn ceremony held by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other dignitaries to honor the fallen soldiers. The Defence Headquarters has urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of these individuals to come forward as part of their commitment to justice and the rule of law.
