Drug Peddlers Attack No To Drugs Initiative

Over the past few years the Nigerian government and NGOs alike has taken dramatic steps to improve country’s reputation as an international trafficking center at the forefront of stemming the rising cases of drug abuse in the country is the ‘’No To Drugs Initiative‘’.

The not-for-profit making organization NTDI overtime has put together symposia and conferences on drug related issues from time to time from secondary schools to the markets as well as Universities and drug infested communities around the city of Lagos and other states across the federation thereby raising public awareness on the destructive effects of drug abuse in the society at large.

Overtime, a correlative fall in drug abuse has been measured immensely around the areas where NTDI activities are very visible and this doesn’t seem to go down well with the major drug peddlers hence they resorted to attacking the office of the NGO, not yet satisfied they went to the extreme by attacking the most visible Ambassador of the NGO, afropunk singer Osas Randawest Omoruyi and he only escaped being lynched just by a whisker but the secretary to the NGO wasn’t so lucky, she was however battered by the drug peddlers but suffered minor bruises.
