House Of Reps. Aspirant Resolves To Sell His Properties To Raise Funds For Leah Sharibu’s Release

John Agmada Bawa, an aspirant contesting for Member House of Representatives in Shiroro, Rafi and Munya Federal Constituency of Niger State, northern Nigeria, has resolved to sell his properties to raise funds for Leah Sharibu’s release.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reps. aspirant also appealed to the government to leave no stone unturned so as to ensure Miss Sharibu is not killed by the insurgents.

Bawa called on the Federal Government, Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, NSCIA and the international community to take the threat by Boko Haram very serious as the sect had recently issued a warning that Leah Sharibu and other abducted ladies will be killed in a month time.

The aspirant also called on ECWA church “which the poor little girl attends to urgently air their voice and champion a cause towards her freedom”.

His words: “Please let open a bank account for fund meant for her release. I learnt the insurgents want ransom to be paid before releasing Leah Sharibu.

“In a video released by Boko Haram recently where the sect killed Saifura Khorsa one of the health workers kidnapped from Kala-Balge, Borno State, the sect also threatened to kill Hauwa Liman and Alice Ngaddah who were abducted alongside Khorsa in March, 2018, as well as Leah Sharibu, the remaining Dapchi schoolgirls in Boko Haram captivity.

“I have resolved to sell some of my properties to raise fund for Leah Sharibu’s freedom. It hurts me bitterly anytime I recalled the warning threat of the sect that they will kill Leah because government could not pay them to secure her release. I wonder why such money could not be raised by good spirited Nigerians.

“I’m on my knees begging the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN and ECWA Church to open a dedicated bank account for Leah Sharibu. I will honestly contribute whatever proceeds from the sale of the property for such cause.

“I don’t want that innocent girl to die. I don’t care about any colouration people may give this. Some may read political meaning to my outburst, some may give it religion colouration but all I care for is the freedom of Leah Sharibu and I earnestly await the creation and publication of such bank account details to fulfil my pledge,” he added.

Bawa called on the government to rise up to its responsibility by ensuring the security of lives and properties of Nigerians and act fast in other to release Miss Sharibu before the sect kills her.

His words: “A foreign lawmaker recently wondered why Nigerians view lives of its citizen as unimportant as to allow the sect waste Leah Sharibu in her prime even when her abductors have agreed to swap her for monetary benefit.

“I was touched reading this in the news and I have promised not only to voice against the killing of that girl but to also make a financial sacrifice towards ensuring Leah Sharibu does not die and I beg every single Nigerians to join me in this crusade,” the PDP stalwart said.

It was earlier reported earlier that the sect threatened to kill Miss Sharibu October 1 (today) if the government does not reach out to them.
