On Thursday night, gunmen took the life of Alhaji Abdulmutallib Sansani, a local chief in the Sansani Chiefdom of Gassol, Taraba State.
A town resident, who had joined the chief for prayers earlier that evening and wished to remain anonymous, shared over the phone, “The chief was attacked and fatally shot around 10:25 pm.”
The source continued, “The gunmen followed him to a residence away from his main palace and killed him there. After leaving the palace at about 7 pm following prayers, he was murdered just hours later.”
“It seems the attackers were keeping an eye on him. They followed him and took his life at one of his homes outside the primary palace,” added the source.
